MASTERS PROGRAM / YÜKSEK LİSANS

The medium of instruction at Çankaya University is English. The MSc program contains two options: MSc with thesis and non-thesis MSc.

Criteria for acceptance to masters program are indicated on the web site of the Institute of Natural Sciences. Candidates applied for masters program will take a written and an oral exam on the dates announced by the Institute of Natural Sciences. Mathematics, mechanics (statics, strength of materials, and dynamics), and thermal sciences and fluidics (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer) related questions will be included respectively in parts A, B, and C of the written exam. Candidates should answer the questions in part A and the questions either in part B or part C.

To qualify for admission to the MSc program in Mechanical Engineering, students are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related engineering field. Candidates who have bachelor’s degree in another engineering field may be required to take additional undergraduate courses.

The MSc with thesis option requires successful completion of a total of 21 credits of coursework (7 courses),  non-credit ME 590 Seminar course, non-credit RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics course and ME 599 MSc thesis. Students also register to ME 591 Special Studies course every semester after they start thesis research. The non-thesis MSc option requires successful completion of a total of 30 credits of coursework (10 courses), RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics course and non-credit ME 592 Project course. In both options the coursework contains 6 credits of compulsory applied engineering mathematics courses (2 courses). The students can also take ME6XX courses listed in the doctorate program as elective courses in addition to ME5XX courses listed below

Makine Mühendisliği Yüksek Lisans programının eğitim dili İngilizce’dir. Tezli ve tezsiz iki programdan oluşmaktadır.

Yüksek lisans programının kabul koşulları Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü sayfasında belirtilmiştir. Tezli yüksek lisans programına başvuran adaylara Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsünce belirtilen tarihlerde yazılı ve sözlü bilim sınavı yapılır. Yazılı sınavda A bölümünde matematik, B bölümünde mekanik konular (statik, mukavemet, dinamik) ve C bölümünde ısıl-akışkan (termodinamik, akışkanlar mekaniği, ısı transferi) soruları bulunmaktadır. Öğrenciler A bölümü ile B veya C bölümünü cevaplandırırlar.

Öğrencinin lisans derecesini aldığı Bölüm gözönüne alınarak gerekli görüldüğü takdirde öğrenciye komite tarafından belirlenen bir bilimsel hazırlık programı uygulanır.

Tezli programda 2 zorunlu ve 5 seçmeli olmak üzere 7 kredili ders (toplam 21 kredi), kredisiz RME 500 Araştırma Yöntemleri ve Etik dersi, ME 590 Seminer dersi ve ME 591 Özel Çalışmalar dersi alınması ve yüksek lisans tezi hazırlanması (ME 599); tezsiz programda 10 kredili ders (30 kredi), kredisiz RME 500 Araştırma Yöntemleri ve Etik dersi ve ME 592 Proje dersi alınması gereklidir.

Öğrenciler seçmeli dersler olarak aşağıda belirtilen ME 5XX kodlu derslerden başka ME 6XX kodlu doktora dersleri de alabilirler.
